Lovely mid 1950s New Look day dress in dark red and taupe floral print rayon acetate. It has a fitted pleated waist and cap sleeves. Front pockets, and the left pocket is embellished with a velvet heart, pink roses and prong-set rhinestones. Bodice lined in light muslin, skirt is not lined. Back metal zipper. Some flowers are dotted with hand-painted white detail. Dress is in excellent condition, although the flowers could be perked up a bit with a steamer.
Fabulous vintage tag inside reads For the Good Times by Lu-Dev's. Hand written on the tag is the year 1954, size 12, and the stock number.
This has a vintage size 12 tag but fits a much smaller modern size. There is no stretch to this fabric. Please refer to the garment measurements listed below, taken while laying flat and doubled where appropriate.
